The beautiful village of Azia, in Ihiala local government area of Anambra State recently accorded one of its most accomplished and illustrious sons, Chief Bestman Obiefoka Clement Onyedi, a befitting burial. Popularly known as Onwa Azia or Bestman, the successful Lagos-based businessman died at the age of 70 and is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren. His final journey home, according to his son, Dr. Kelechi Onyedi, began with a Vigil Mass in his compound, in Ukwakwa, Azia, on Thursday, August 22, 2019. A Lying-in-State followed on Friday, August 23, in his palatial home; then a Funeral Service at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Azia. Internment and other funeral activities thereafter commenced inside his compound. The condolence visits continued on Saturday and then an outing service, still at the same St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, wrapped it up on Sunday, August 25.Committees upon committees, expectedly, put heads together to ensure the smooth burial of Onwa, who did not only impact dozens of lives but also left indelible marks in the annals of the community via his philanthropy and social engagements.
