First Bank, one of Nigeria’s biggest and oldest banks, has warned their customers against falling prey to internet scammers.
In a message sent to all their customers today, the bank advised them never to disclose their ‘Internet Banking Password, Token Generated Responses/Numbers, Full Card Details, Numbers & Pins and Internet Banking Secret Question & Answers’.
In the said message entitled ‘Stop, Do Not Disclose’, the bank, headed by Bisi Onosanya, insisted that ‘These are private to you and should be treated with utmost secrecy. If you receive any email or SMS requesting for any of these information, kindly delete…First Bank will never ask you to disclose your banking details no matter the circumstance.’
In conclusion, it said ‘If you receive any email purportedly sent from First Bank asking you to click on any link, please contact FirstContact immediately by email at [email protected] or by telephone at +234 708062500; +234 14485500.’
It would be recalled that cyber scammers are currently on the prowl and fleecing ignorant bank customers of their hard-earned money. Thus, necessitating the warning by banks against becoming victims.
YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine investigations revealed that millions of Naira have been lost to that already. Even as more and more people continue to fall into their trap.
