The man who revolutionised the way sports is presented on radio in Nigeria, Dr. Larry Izamoje, is bereaved.
Izamoje, also the founder of Africa’s first all-sports radio, Brila FM, just lost his sweet mother.
Below, and unedited, is how the family broke the sad news: ‘With total surrender and thanks to God for the blessing of longevity and a life well lived, we announce the passing due to natural causes of our mother, Ma Felicia Ewere Otiti Izamoje (1931-2020), aged 89 years.
‘She is survived by Mrs Mabel Momodu, Pastor (Mrs) Patricia Ozowe, Dr Innocent Izamoje, Dr Larry Izamoje, Mrs Joy Oghenebruke, Mr Festus Izamoje, Mr Sylvester Izamoje, Chief(Mrs) Faith Akudihor, grand, great grand children, in-laws, relatives, church members and friends.’
Burial arrangements, according to Mrs Mabel Momodu who spoke on behalf of the family, will be announced later.
Chatting exclusively with YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine, on Thursday, April 2, 2020, Dr. Larry Izamoje told us that he’s pained losing his mother. ‘I’ve not stopped remembering some of our last discussions, and truth be told, it hasn’t been easy. Those who still have their mothers around should please enjoy them while they are here’.
