Pop crooner, George Michael, is dead. Aged 53, the news of his demise was broken on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, 2016, by his publicist.
Said the publicist: “It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.
“The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage…”
Reclusive and allegedly into drugs and homosexuality, he would always be remembered for some of his popular works like Club Tropicana, Last Christmas, Careless Whisper and Faith.
Born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotouto to a Greek father and an English mother in North London in 1963, meeting Andrew Ridgeley in high school gave birth to Wham! in 1981 – and ever since there was no more stopping him.
Tributes, expectedly, have continued to pour in for him.
