The embattled Catholic Bishop of Ahiara, in Imo State, Most Reverend Peter Okpalaeke, has allegedly reigned.
The priest whose appointment did not go down well with some people in Ahiara Diocese has finally thrown in the towel.
His resignation, according to Nigeria’s Papal Nuncio, Monsignor Antonio Guido Filipazzi, has been accepted by the Holy Father, Pope Francis. And Bishop Lucius Ugorji, of Umuahia Diocese, appointed as the substantive overseer.
