December 25, every year, is celebrated all over the world as the birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ. Usually fun-filled and encircled by immersed in, we asked some of our celebs to share their plans for that day with us…
YINKA QUADRI (ACTOR)
“Christmas is about celebration, because it’s a festival that is being celebrated all around the world. I would be spending it with my family. My wife and one of my daughters; we would be going to Dubai for the holidays from the 23rd of December to the 2nd of January”.
HALIMA ABUBAKAR (ACTRESS)
“I only celebrate with the people who celebrate this season and I know it’s an important day, so I will join in the merriment.
I would be travelling to the U.S to spend my holiday there”.
SULE ALAO MALAIKA (MUSICIAN)
“Being a Muslim, Christmas means a lot because majority of my fans are either Christians or Muslims. So, we celebrate with them by organizing shows to thrill them within Lagos and outside Lagos. Christmas means love, peace, progress and unity to us. We would be entertaining our fans through shows that we have lined up this Christmas. On Christmas day, we would be performing at a street jam on the Lagos Island. I pray the New Year brings blessings to everyone, especially my fans. And I’m working on a new album which would be released in the first quarter of the new year”.
AFIZ OYETORO (SAKA) (ACTOR)
“I am not a Christian, but I know it is done to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Although 25th of December is not actually the real date that Jesus Christ was born, I’m not sure anybody knows that because there is no record to show it. As a theatre practitioner it is time for work for me because what makes people relax is my job. I have some shows lined out. So, as from next week, I’d be going from one location to the other until January 3rd when I’d take a break and go spend time with my family somewhere outside Lagos for the new year. I pray God to increase the standard of my living; to add more positive values to my life and the society. To move me from my present level to a higher level and to be more active and get closer to God”.
COSSY ORJIAKOR (ENTERTAINER)
“It’s the period Jesus Christ was born, so it’s something you celebrate with family and get to see friends you have not seen for ages. I’d be travelling to my hometown, which is in Anambra, to spend time with my family members. Man proposes, God disposes. So, I just pray about what I have in mind and see if God is going to make it come true”.
