The Ogun State government has presented keys of 24 units of two bedroom flats to families, whose houses paved way for the construction of modern shopping malls at Omida, Abeokuta South West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of the state.
Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Arch. Olamilekan Adegbite said the presentation was in fulfilment of the promise made by Governor Ibikunle Amosun, that the families, whose houses were pulled down for the construction, would be allocated new ones.
Speaking while presenting the keys, the commissioner, represented by the Director of Highways (Major Contract) Engr. Lateef Oladimeji Yussuf, “here we are, the governor has made good his promise by what is happening here today.”
Adegbite enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the flats, adding that the gesture was a testimony to the fact that people’s welfare remained top priority of government.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Kayode Adesina thanked the governor for fulfilling his promise, advising critics of the the state government to have a rethink, considering the outstanding achievements of the Amosun administration.
He promised that they would make the best use of the flats allocated to them.
