All seems not well at the state-owned tertiary institution of learning, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta. The brewing crisis is not unconnected with the recent management activities and the constitution of the citadel’s Governing Council. Recently, the Deputy Rector, Registrar and Librarian were ‘asked’ to go on 8 months leave (hiatus). According to a statement from the new management of the institution, the leave had accrued over the years and as such, they were asked to hand over to their respective deputies. Meanwhile, an inside source told GP that the trio will still commence another leave upon resumption, because it’s an alleged attempt to ease them out of the polytechnic. Meanwhile, the institution’s chapter of ASUP is still agitating for a Rector within the school as against the appointment of the current Rector from the University of Ibadan.
