Dairy Farm High School emerged winners of the 2014 Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) Lagos Principals Cup competition after defeating Oriwu Senior College 2-0 in an epic final played on Saturday at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. The final, which attracted an appreciable crowd of fans who came out to support their teams to victory, did not disappoint as the double –header game – the male category and female category finals-lived up to the billing. An impressive Sunday Adeoye stole the show on the day as he netted the two goals for the eventual winners, Dairy Farm. In the girls’ category, Government Senior College, Agege defeated Ikotun High School 2-1 to cart away the coveted trophy, following a match in which Yetunde Fajobi and Sunday Elizabeth got both goals for the winning side. The eventual winners were rewarded with N1m cheque as prize money for both the boys and girls’ categories while runners up got N750,000 for both categories; second runners up received N500,000 and fourth place got N250,000 respectively. Yetunde Fajobi, the girls’ Most Valuable Player (MVP) winner and Sunday Adeoye, the boys’ Most Valuable Player (MVP) winner will be in Brazil 2014 world cup with an all expense paid trip by the Lagos State government. Charismatic singer, Olamide got the entire fans at the stadium wowed and dancing with some of his great hits to the admiration of the young school children to add more colour and razzmatazz to the entire event. Lagos State Commissioner for Sports, Waheed Enitan Oshodi, was among the dignitaries that graced the occasion.
