Some disturbing and conflicting facts have begun emerging on the shocking death, on Friday, April 19, 2019, of Nollywood director, Ifeanyi Onyeabo, in Jos, Plateau State.
The first, according to YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine findings, is that he allegedly died of food poisoning and the other one is that he was allegedly poisoned.
Shedding more light on these allegations, however, a source who claimed to be on the site of a film village he was building when it happened said the late Ifeanyi gulped a bottle of Kunu, a local Northern milk drink and afterwards started feeling uncomfortable.
’So, it’s either the Kunu was poisoned or contaminated. Surprisingly, even Ifeanyi, as he was drinking it, had quipped: ‘chai! I don drink poison’ as if he knew that something was wrong somewhere or had a premonition of what would follow.
’Now, as he became more and more uncomfortable, he eventually left for home. There, he started stooling and vomiting For three days and when it seemed there was no arresting his condition, he was rushed to Rayfield Medical Hospital, Jos where he eventually gave up the ghost.
’In fact, as at the time we got to the hospital, he couldn’t speak any more. The wife was crying. Likewise those of us that accompanied him. Eventually, the doctor confirmed our worst fear and the intensity of our cries increased. Especially as his remains were being taken to the morgue, for embalment and other things. As we speak, my brother, everybody is still in shock, wondering whether the Kunu was contaminated or he was just poisoned.’
A native of Ugboka, in the Nkanu area of Enugu State, Onyeabo, popularly known as Big Slim was married and blessed with five children. Said to be 49 years old, from his company, IGO Pictures had emerged good works like True Legends, One Good Turn, Darkest Knight, My Mother’s Heart, New Jerusalem and 5 Apostles.
The workaholic and stunt master, YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine equally learnt, was really looking forward to his birthday on April 28, which he had planned to celebrate with friends in Lagos. He also allegedly had some unfinished business with Netflix as well as the production he was doing in Jos when death came calling.
