Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Daar Communications, owners of Raypower and AIT, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has opened up on his shocking invitation and interrogation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
According to Dokpesi, who was invited yesterday, Tuesday, December 1, 2015, by the anti graft agency, the N2.1 billion paid to him by the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, rtd, was payment for publicity and media campaigns executed for PDP during the 2015 general elections!
Many, expectedly, have been questioning the reason for the payment by and through the NSA as well as the humongous amount involved. Said one of them: ‘Does the NSA office now pay for television adverts? This is just so shocking and surprising.’
It would be recalled that Dokpesi, touted at some point as ex- President Goodluck Jonathan’s likely Chief of Staff, ran some obnoxious documentaries against the APC and some of their leaders on AIT, which raised a lot of dust then. Part of the N2.1 billion for which he is still being quizzed may be for that.
President Muhammadu Buhari recently ordered the arrest of all those involved in the scandalous $2.2 billion arms deal. And so far, Dokpesi, Dasuki, Attahiru Bafarawa, former Sokoto Governor and other heavy weights have been taken in and are currently explaining to investigators their involvement and otherwise in the matter.
