The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio recently met with Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno who came to felicitate with him on his victory.
Beaming with smiles, he had said to him: “This is the Governor of my state. I am told you are a man of peace. May peace reign in your tenure. Even if you did not come to see me, I would have come to see you. I was a minister for three years. I wrote several letters to the state during the COVID 19 pandemic.
“Security men were warned not to collect the letter seeking audience with the then Governor else they will be sacked. It was humiliating but today the rejected stone has become the Chief corner stone.
“I built everything you see in the Government House complex. I built the Governor’s Lodge. I built the Deputy Governor’s lodge. I built the modern banquet hall and the Presidential guest houses.
“We must eschew politics of bitterness and play politics of sensibility. When you emerged as governor, I resolved to support you. You are an agent of change and I pray God to grant you good health.
“Create your own path, don’t inherit anybody’s enemy. I will work with you. I will support you in every way possible. We have finished election. Governance is next. You have started well.”
