Controversial founder of Sahara Reporters, the popular online medium and presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has allegedly been arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS.
The fearless human rights activist and pro-democracy campaigner was said to have been picked up this morning at his Lagos home.
Details of what actually transpired are still sketchy. Although feelers have it that he was arrested around 1.25am, on Saturday, August 3, 2019. And also that he made some tweets prior to his phone being confiscated.
Sowore and ‘Nigeria Jajajaga’ crooner, Eedris Abdulkareem, it would be recalled, had days back released a video where they were rooting for a revolution in the country. They were also calling for a nationwide protest, which obviously must have triggered this.
The protest was billed for Monday, August 5 and according to them it would be across the nation, with adequate preparations already made.
More details soon…
