Fanz Championship Africa, created by Abelinis Limited, has fulfilled yet another promise with the commissioning of a community project at Amuwo Odofin Primary School, Lagos, as part of the prizes attached to the winner of Season 2 ‘Better Me’ series, Amuwo Odofin FC.
The community project, aimed at giving back to the society within Amuwo Odofin and environs, is a corporate social responsibility of Fanz Championship Africa to add value to a school via the construction of a new borehole, renovation of abandoned school toilet facilities and donation of a generator to power the borehole.
Present at the commissioning of the project on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 were Mrs. Ruth Ogunyemi, wife of Honourable Ogunyemi, Chairman House Committee on Education, who represented the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Abimbola Ambode and Mr. Akinwunmi Olaniyi, representing Honourable Dipo Olorunrinu, Member, House of Representatives, Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1, Lagos.
To represent the Deputy Governor of Lagos State was Mrs. Ebun Oluwaseyi, Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Lagos State, Amuwo Odofin FC, winners of Season 2 ‘Better Me’ series, Mr. Abiodun Oshinibosi, the project marshall and executive producer of Fanz Championship Africa and his wife, Mrs. Morenike Oshinibosi, Mr. Deji Orunkoyi, Mr. Gbenga Oketade, Mr. Moruf Babatunde Alabi, former Head Teacher, Amuwo Odofin Primary School, Mr. R.A Jimoh, Principal, Iganmu Senior High School and Engr. T.Y Ogunshakin, Chairman, School Basic Management Committee.
The premiere of the Season 3, ‘Super Me’ series, Celebrity Edition match, with short clips of qualified teams on mega screen for viewers’ enjoyment, was a sight to behold on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the upscale Silverbird Cinemas, Ikeja City Mall, Alausa, Lagos.
Fanz Championship Africa, the most-watched, unique and interactive TV game show from the stable of Abelinis Limited, commenced in 2004. Winner(s) of the football game show usually go home with N5 million cash and other prizes, including a community project.
16 teams, drawn from states in Nigeria, would participate in the competition. And among them are: Ultimate Hope FC, Pace Setters FC, Caliphate Warriors FC, Treasure FC, Aso Rockers, Excellence FC, Sunshine Blazers, Peace Ville FC, Libra Force FC, Gateway Squad FC, Paradise Machine FC, Coal City FC, Heartbeat Royale, Emirate Stallion, Living Spring FC and Harmony Magic FC.
The qualified teams will have celebrity coaches like Sexy Steel, Bash The Comedian, Sossick, Toyin Ibitoye, Alexx Ekubo, Biola Kazeem, 9ice, Juliet Ibrahim, Reminisce, Helen Paul, Illbliss, Shina Okeleyi, DJ Neptune, Deji Omotoyinbo, Juliet Mafua and Jide Alabi.
The matches between the qualified 16 teams would be officiated by comedian and On Air Personality, Ushbebe, as referee.
