Socialites, especially those who delight is abusing Naira and foreign currencies at parties, are currently gripped by fear. The reason is that no one knows who will be arrested next, especially after yesterday’s arrest of Emeka Okonkwo by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The loud businessman who is popularly known as E-Money was arrested at his Omole Phase 2, Lagos home on Monday, April 28, 2025.
His arrest, we learnt, may not be unconnected to a viral video showing him spraying foreign currencies at an event, which violates the Foreign Exchange Act.
He was still being quizzed by the EFCC at the time of writing this, and would be arraigned in court once investigations are completed.
A source at the EFCC office told us that E-Money and others had been under their searchlight for sometime and that one after the other, all of them would be picked up for prosecution and also to serve as a deterrent to others.
Prior to the arrest of E-Money, who is the younger brother of musician, Kcee, other socialites like Cubana Chief Priest and Bobrisky had been arrested and prosecuted by the EFCC.
