Respected Nigerian, Deacon Gamaliel Onosode, will begin his final journey home today, Friday, October 16, 2015 – and this is authoritative.
By 5pm, and at The Civic Centre, on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, Lagos, the first burial activity will hold – and that is The Corporate Nigeria Evening.
On Saturday, October 17, at the Chris Abebe Auditorium, Plot 22, Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, it will be a Session of Tributes. Time is 2pm.
On Monday, October 19, at 5pm, the Send Forth Service will hold at the Good News Baptist Church, 47/49, Olufemi Road, in Surulere.
A Commendation Service will follow the next day, October 20, at 10am. This is at the Ikoyi Baptist Church, 5/7, Jakande Street, off Glover Road, Ikoyi.
Activities will return again to the Good News Baptist Church in Surulere on Wednesday, October 21, and between the hours of 8 and 10am, for the Lying in State.
On Thursday, October 22, at 5pm, the Service of Songs, will unfurl at the First Baptist Church, Ughelli, Delta State.
Then, another Lying in State, at the Onosode Compound in Ekiugbo-Ughelli between 7 and 8.30am; Government College, Ughelli, 9-10.30am; the Funeral Service will come next at the First Baptist Church, Ughelli, then interment at the Onosode Family Compound (Edia R’Ufuoma), in Ekiugbo-Ughelli.
Saturday, October 24, is for In-laws’ Greetings at Edia R’Ufuoma. Then, the climax of the 10-day event – Thanksgiving Service, slated for Sunday, October 25, at the Winners Baptist Church, Ekiugbo-Ughelli.
Onosode, a corporate titan, was born on May 22, 1933. He died on September 29, 2015, after a 2-year battle with cancer. A very good man, President Muhammed Buhari in his tribute described him as an exemplary Nigerian.
