Former governorship candidate in the Peoples Democratic Party, and later Peoples Party of Nigeria, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, has come out to fault the road projects embarked upon by the Sen. Ibikunle Amosun-led administration. According to GNI, as he is fondly called, “We don’t need to demolish the people’s means of livelihood all because we want to expand the road which can be done in phases. I also think whatever we want to do has to be done in consonance with the resources of the state. I am not sure a good economist would go out demolishing properties and people’s houses when you are not ready to actually go into some of the projects by virtue of the resources you have. By and large, our objective is to make living abundant for the people”. Isiaka, also being rumored to be an aspirant for the position of governor under the Labour Party, frowned heavily at the displacement of people when alternatives were not provided immediately as well as the high level of youth unemployment.
