Innocent Ujah Idia, popularly known as 2Face, is one of the most decorated and successful hip hop artistes in Africa. Constantly ranked among the best, the celebrated polygamist, with seven children from three women, stated that this insatiable attitude has been his success secret.
While reacting to a question on TV Continental’s programme, ‘My True Naija Story’, the singer had said: “I could remember some years back, then in Festac. I hustled like no one else. Anywhere I could go to, any TV or radio show, we just bumped in. Any show we see its poster, we get the address and fall in there just like that and that was how we started meeting people, because nothing good comes easy. There was a time I was given an opportunity to perform on stage and people were not following me. It seemed as if I had no career in singing. I was pursued, but I never allowed that to affect me at all. I’m here today, although there are still plenty of things to do and plenty of obstacles as well because there is no end to the struggle and to how far you can go. So, never think that you are satisfied and that is one of the things that have kept me up till today”. 2Face, who left the mother of two of his sons (Zion and Nino), Sumbo Ajaba as well as Washington DC, United States of America-based make-up artist, Pero Adeniyi, who bore him a girl, Rose and two boys, Justin and another to marry Nollywood actress, Annie Macaulay, who has given him two daughters (Isabella and Olivia) also said: “I never think I’ve arrived. I never think I have achieved what I plan to achieve in life. I still believe it is a constant process of getting there”.
Alleged to have also impregnated an Ekiti State born banker who is said to be carrying his five months old pregnancy, 2Face recently acquired two more properties in Lekki, Lagos, a five bedroom duplex inside Richmond Gate Estate that is said to be worth over N100 million. He also has other houses in Festac, Ikeja and Lagos Island. The Zain ambassador who has been investing wisely is also the brain behind Rumours Lounge, in Ikeja and Festac. He equally owns Hypertek Entertainment, a record label that has won him one MTV Europe Music Award, One World Music Award, Five Headies Awards (Hip-Hop Awards), four Channel O Music Video Awards and one BET Award. Four MTV Africa Music Awards, one MOBO Award, one KORA Award and numerous nominations and collaborations with other artistes are also in his kitty. But like he said: He isn’t satisfied yet!
