Mrs. Iyabo Anisulowo, a former Minister and Senator, kidnapped last week Wednesday in Ogun State, finally regained her Freedom on World Press Freedom Day!
Anisulowo, who served as Minister of State for Edducation under late Gen. Sanni Abacha, before later going ahead to become a Senator of the Federal Republic, representing Ogun, was said to have been rescued in Gbegbelawo village, in Yewa North LGA of Ogun State.
The 65 year old woman was rescued around 7pm, and has been re united with her family. Two of her suspected kidnappers are also in police net.
Mrs. Anisulowo was returning from her farm in Sawonjo when the kidnappers seized her, demanding for a N200 million ransom. Luck, however, ran out of them as the Police eventually succeeded in thwarting their sinister and obnoxious plans.
Their victim has been recounting her 6-day ordeal ever since. Beside the trauma, she said she lived on just water throughout her time in captivity.
