Prince Abubakar Audu will govern Kogi State for the next 4 years – and this is authoritative. Audu who contested against the incumbent, Idris Wada, on the ticket of All Progressives Congress, APC, is leading comfortably.
All the results released so far indicate that he has unseated Wada and is only awaiting his official declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Jubilation has also enveloped his camp ahead of his being handed over the Certificate of Return by INEC. Believed to be one of the strongest politicians in Kogi State, he had governed the State twice and was battling corruption charges, courtesy EFCC, before securing his party’s ticket to run and eventually emerging victorious.
A break down of the governorship results will soon come your way…
Additional information at our disposal – Audu polled 240,867 votes against Wada’s 199,514.
