Days after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) ‘raided’ his Parkview and Epe, Lagos homes, the immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode’s woes seem far from being over.
The latest on the accountant turned politician who was denied a second term ticket by the powers that be is that the Lagos State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Mudashiru Obasa, is currently investigating him.
The legislators, as a matter of fact, have even inaugurated a committee to probe his administration.
Headed by Fatai Mojeed, the committee’s mandate is to look into the 820 buses that had been allegedly purchased for public transportation in the state, in the twilight of Ambode’s administration.
Eyebrows, it would also be recalled, were raised days back when at a retreat organized for members of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s cabinet, only two of his predecessors, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babatunde Raji Fashola, were invited. Thus making many to ask: Where is Ambode?
