One of Nigeria’s brightest record labels, Morgan Entertainment, owned by Emeka Oguejiofor, is on the move again. It would be recalled that the former basketball player, who later trained as a crime fighting agent in the United Kingdom, visited his father land about a month ago and embarked on this project, which has so far gulped millions of naira.
For those who have been following this column, you would remember On Point! telling you about the artistes signed to Morgan Entertainment. He confirmed our story from far away United Kingdom, when we put a call to him. Hear him: Yeah! It’s true, our recording studio is nearing completion and we are holding back nothing just to put everything in place. The whole construction and interiors are ready right now; and anytime soon, we will be deploying good music, first class recording equipment/suite after which full time business begins. However, the motive behind erecting such expensive studio in Nigeria is to place all our artistes far above others. We don’t want a situation where our artistes will be jumping from one studio to the other booking sessions. We want to have all the equipment and all the requirements for making good music in-house. This will help sharpen the careers of our artistes and like I told you during our last interview, when you create an enabling environment for creativity to come, it will and that’s our target.” Throwing more light on this, Morgan Entertainment’s Nigeria manager, Mr. Obi Madubogu said: “Morgan Entertainment is not just an everyday record label. The welfare and comfort of our artistes are of utmost concern to us, and we will do everything to attain it. Everyone knows our chairman, Emeka Morgan, is a man of style and aside that, he loves to settle for nothing but the best. That has been his watchword over the years and there is no going back; not now.” Amongst Morgan Entertainment’s new acts are Konga and Ned, who both have their songs enjoying massive airplay. Ned even just released a video for his popular single, A Star, where he featured Vector.
