My dear,
Today, you will receive help from where you least expect. You will not fail.
Yesterday, I shared with you the story of Madam CJ Walker who despite the prevailing circumstances that she found herself, became the first black American woman to be a millionaire after slavery was abolished.
As if being a daughter of slave parents was not enough challenge, she became an orphan at age 7. She got married at age 14; to escape the oppressive work environment at a cotton field and from being a burden to her siblings, Walker found herself widowed two years later and she was left to cater for her daughter.
None of these misfortunes were strong enough to stop her from achieving her purpose in life and fulfilling her dreams.
Though women were neither seen nor heard at that time and blacks were legally discriminated against, she promoted her hair care products by travelling around the country, giving lecture demonstrations and eventually established Madam C.J. Walker Laboratories to manufacture cosmetics and train sales beauticians.
Walker was a very brave and courageous woman who never lost hope against all odds.
