Things are still falling apart at MTN, Nigeria’s número uno telecommunications company. Ever since they were fined a whooping N1.04 trillion by the Nigerian Communications Commission for allegedly allowing 5.2 million unregistered SIM cards to continue to function on their network against NCC’s directive, MTN has not known peace.
Their reputation first took some blows, then their shares, followed by the resignation of their Group CEO, Sifiso Dabengwa. Now, their Nigerian CEO, Michael Ikpoki, has also resigned, alongside their Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, Akinwale Goodluck.
More staffers will soon follow, according to what we heard. Even as the company continues to battle with her still unfolding and unfurling drama.
Meanwhile, a Caucasian, Ferdi Moolman, has stepped into Ikpoki’s shoes.
