The Supreme Court has dismissed the application filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2019 governorship election in Imo State, Emeke Ihedioha, for a review of its judgment, thus ending his dream of ever returning to office until after another four years.
The judgment was delivered on Tuesday, May 3, 2020 by the seven-member panel led by the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Tanko Muhammad.
The court had earlier in the day stood down judgment after counsels to parties to the suit had made their final submissions.
The Supreme Court, it would be recalled, had on January 14, 2020 declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress winner of the March 9, 2019 governorship poll. This was after about seven months of Ihedioha in the saddle.
