The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Friday, attended the 1st convocation lecture of Edo University, Iyamho, which is being delivered by Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele.
Governor Obaseki, who led other members of the State Executive Council to the event, is pursuing a reform agenda for the state’s tertiary institutions that would put them at the forefront of teaching and research nationally and globally.
The convocation lecture is entitled, ‘Role of Monetary Policy: Towards Economic Growth in Nigeria,’ and is chaired by the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed.
Other dignitaries at the event include former Edo State Governor and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole; The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu; Commissioner for Education, Hon. Jimoh Ijegbai, Commissioner for Electricity and Energy, Hon Akinola Agbaje; Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, among others.
