The Media Office of Adetokunbo Modupe hereby announces his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, marking a significant political development in Ondo State and the Ondo North Senatorial District in particular.

In a formal letter addressed to the Ward Chairman of the PDP, Ute Ward 12, Ose Local Government Area, Mr. Modupe notified the party of his decision to withdraw his membership, citing deep concerns over the party’s internal decline.

Explaining his action, Modupe stated unequivocally that “this becomes necessary as the party appears to have drifted into the abyss due to leadership indiscretion.” The statement reflects a long standing unease with the erosion of discipline, accountability, and strategic coherence within the party.

Mr. Modupe expresses his appreciation to party officials and members and wishing them “the best of luck,” even as he formally severed ties.

Adetokunbo Modupe was the PDP Northern Senatorial Candidate in the 2023 general election and served as a Member of the Southwest Zonal Executive Committee (EXCO). His resignation therefore represents not just a personal decision, but a pointed critique from within the party’s former leadership structure.

The Media Office notes that this development underscores growing dissatisfaction among senior party figures over leadership conduct and the widening gap between party ideals and present realities.

While he has exited the PDP, Mr. Modupe remains firmly committed to public service, principled politics, and the pursuit of a political order that inspires confidence, unity, and responsible leadership.

Further decisions regarding his political future will be communicated in due course.

The PR expert who calls the shots at TPT, a leading public relations firm, however, was silent about his next political home.
