The General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has vowed to sack any member that takes delight in fornication. The humble man of God who has been on the neck of erring members who indulge in fornication, idolatry and falsification of the church’s account pledged to fish out, disgrace, sack and excommunicate anyone caught in the act. In a letter sent to all parish pastors and read out for all church workers, Daddy G.O, as he is fondly called, stated that, “anyone who has the courage to disclose that he or she has been fornicating would be suspended for one year and those who refused to confess and were caught in the act would be excommunicated from the church.” Adeboye’s war on fornication has been greatly intensified for some weeks now as several reports reaching him indicate that some members of the church, including pastors and workers, have been possessed by the spirit of fornication, idolatry and stealing of church’s treasures. The respected preacher of the Word started this war with himself to show how serious he was during the January 2, 2015 Holy Ghost Service of the church, at the Redemption Camp, Km 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, when he ordered the church’s hierarchy to pray for his death in 3 months if he had done anything to retrogress the church which they did before he now turned to them for the same offence. Although, he gave them the grace to restitute, which so many of them gladly embraced. Then, he prayed for them and asked them to sin no more. Meanwhile, some of the members of the church grumbled and complained over why one sin should be seen as greater than another. They argued that, “in a case where someone engages in evil and malicious gossips, becomes an unperturbed liar, cheat or does other sinful acts, but not fornicating, does that mean the person is still under grace and can’t be sanctioned?” So, YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine called on one of the aides to Daddy G.O, Pastor Olakunmi Oyewale, on Friday, January 30, 2015 and he said: “Well, the issue is that, it only involves the workers and ministers. I think that was the dictate of God for now and no one can question that. It was clearly stated that those who come out to confess and restitute will be given 1 year suspension and those who refused and were later caught would be excommunicated and the issue of excommunication was also recorded in the Holy Bible when Apostle Paul said anyone found in fornication should be removed from the church so as not to influence others. That other sins were not mentioned doesn’t mean they are good or are less hazardous, but the dictate of the Lord for now is on the issue of fornication.”
