It is no longer news that the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is in deep crisis. This was made worse by the stakeholders forum of the party which held at the Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta residence of former Governor Segun Osoba on Thursday, May 8, 2014, where Osoba, flanked by members of the National Assembly, State Assembly and some APC stalwarts in the state, made a grand appearance. While thanking the mammoth crowd that came from all the 20 local governments in the state, he stated categorically that he does not have any personal issue with Amosun, adding however that he feels for the party men and women who have been schemed out of things in the state. Gateway People findings later uncovered that the major grouse the former governor has against the return of Amosun borders on his disregard for party guidelines, favouring his SIACO group over other party members, imposition and majorly, the total neglect of over 12,000 people that were used as party agents in the last general elections that contributed to the emergence of the incumbent Governor. Meanwhile, additional information reaching GP has it that the internal crisis of the party is also borne out of the second term bid of some lawmakers, from the Senate to the House of Assembly. It is alleged that Amosun has resolved to do all within his capacity as Governor and the leader of the party to ensure that all the incumbent Senators and federal lawmakers, including State Assembly members, are not returned. As it is, all awaits the decision of the national working committee billed to meet on Tuesday, May 13, 2014.
