Venerated Nigerian and elder statesman, Deacon Gamaliel Onosode, allegedly died of cancer. YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine gathered that the Baptist Church deacon fell for the dreaded sickness two years ago at age 80.
He battled it for two years before succumbing to death this morning around 8.15am, at Gold Cross Hospital, in Ikoyi, Lagos. He had earlier been flown to the United Kingdom, brought back yesterday, only to die today. He was aged 82.
Condolence messages have been pouring in for him. With President Muhammadu Buhari describing him as an exemplary Nigerian. A man of impeccable character and integrity, his family is yet to make any official statement on his demise even though the story is now all over the place.
