This is authoritative – Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bolaji Odesanya, died of kidney failure.
Aged 56, Odesanya, according to YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine findings, gave up the ghost at the Sterling Hospital, Ahmedabad-Gujarat, in India yesterday.
A native of Irolu, Ikenne, in Ogun State, his burial announcement was yet to be announced as at the time of writing this.
Condolence messages, meanwhile, have continued to pour in for him.
The 37th Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, his sickness and subsequent death were said to be so swift. He reportedly took ill in December only to die in January.
He joined the Nigeria Police on February 2, 1986 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent, and gradually climbed the promotion ladder.
Prior to going to Rivers State, he was the Area Commander, Area G, in Ogba, Lagos. He was also the Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of Operations, Finance and Administration at some point.
Married and blessed with children, his first degree was in Political Science, from the University of Lagos and the second one, Law, from the Lagos State University.
