If you go through the Freedom Charter of America, you would clearly see the thought pattern of the founding fathers of that nation and the kind of nation they wanted. There was no ambiguity about it and little wonder the kind of nation they eventually built. We sometimes underestimate God’s ability to spark off the revival of an ailing nation from a healthy family.
History shows how Noah’s family determined the continued existence of the world after the flood that wiped out the entire world simply because he was different. The nation of Israel also emerged from the patriarch, Abraham, who chose to obey God’s instruction and if you notice every word God spoke to that man, it was clear God was not just thinking about his personal family prosperity; He was thinking of a nation that would stand out and do His will. Your family ideology is the whole essence of your being and if it is founded on selfishness or error, there is no way you can build a credible family, let alone a credible nation. Any discerning person would know that the salvation of the nation, Nigeria, must start with a new order of family who would humble themselves to rebuild the nation after God’s building blocks, starting with the family. So, it is not about what you desire as a man/woman or your quest to hold unto a cultural ideology. It is more about God’s quest to rebuild a new nation. So, why don’t you sit with your family and ask everyone to describe the kind of nation they want to live in and why they think such a nation is needed? Once that is expressed, then you can create a family ideology out of it, because once your family adheres to that ideology, you are on your way to create a new nation.
What is your family ideology? I am so excited at the response this particular series is generating and the fact that families are getting together to start doing things differently.
I know many of you are wondering about the easiest way to craft a family ideology so that you can have something that your family can hold so dear to your heart and live by. My first response would be for you to read up the American Freedom Charter and use it to create a simpler version for your family, but you can be sure I’d share with you what a typical family ideology should look like on this platform as well. Here are a few critical questions whose response should form your family ideology:
– What does family mean to us?
– What is our perception of human beings?
– What future did we see that necessitated our coming together to start a family?
– Why did God create human beings (this is one question whose answer you must get right or else it could lead to a wrong ideology).
– Do we believe in creation or evolution?
– Can the world ever become a better place through our family?
– What environment is needed for our world to become a better place?
– What must we change about us and who must we become to create that environment?
If you put your answers together, it is easy to craft a family ideology. Why don’t you go ahead and produce your family ideology and send to me for vetting at [email protected].
Once your family ideology is wrong, there is no way you can produce a right family.
To be continued.
