Embattled Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, says he will appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja tomorrow, Tuesday, September 22, 2015, to respond to all the allegations leveled against him as well as shed more light on his absence the last time the Tribunal sat.
Justice Danladi Umar had ordered Saraki’s arrest after he failed to appear before him last week. Which expectedly generated so much noise.
But assuring that he will be at the Tribunal tomorrow, Saraki, former Governor of Kwara State, stated on his Facebook today that he will be there. ‘Dr. Saraki has taken the decision to attend the Tribunal sitting to demonstrate his respect for the rule of law in spite of his personal reservation on the process of his trial and the purpose it may tend to serve’.
The Code of Conduct Tribunal is alleging that during his tenure as Governor, Saraki’s asset declaration was faulty. Thus he should come forward with his reasons for doing that.
