Rivers State Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike, says he’s been through hell.
Interacting with members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors on Friday, August 5, 2016, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the former Minister of State for Education (under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan) disclosed that but for God he would have since been uprooted from office.
‘I’m one Governor who has passed through hell’, he began. Adding that prior to his eventual inauguration on May 29, 2015, he had about ten suits to contend with – in Anambra, Imo, Lagos, Abuja…
He further revealed that since his emergence, his Commissioner of Police has been replaced seven times; the Director of SSS three times. ‘Even the DPO in my community, the one in the Government House have also been changed. Change! Change! Change!’ He added jocularly.
Lamenting that the constant change of security personnel is not allowing the state to plan long term, security-wise, Wike maintained that he can work with anybody, but provided the person is sincere and hasn’t got any ulterior motive. ‘Anybody can work with me’.
