The camp of the embattled Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has been celebrating – and the reason is this: The Supreme Court just ordered the suspension of his on-going trial by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, headed by Justice Danladi Umar.
Saraki, slammed with a 13-count charge bordering on non declaration of assets, got the reprieve today, Thursday, November 12, 2015, because, according to the court, the corruption trial should tarry a while and pending the completion of an appeal brought before it by him.
Assuring however that the matter would be speedily treated, many of course can’t wait for the outcome.
